HRH The Princess Royal will attend the Betfred St Leger at Doncaster Racecourse on Saturday 12 September, marking a landmark moment in the history of the world-famous race.
Her Royal Highness will be a special guest at this year’s Betfred St Leger, which is set to be the biggest yet as the world’s oldest Classic celebrates 250 years since the inaugural race.
As part of the day’s celebrations, The Princess Royal will present the winning owner with the coveted Betfred St Leger Trophy following the running of the feature race.
First run in 1776, the St Leger has been won by some of the greatest names in racing history. Its 250th anniversary running provides a unique opportunity to celebrate the race’s rich heritage while looking ahead to its future.
The 250th anniversary Betfred St Leger forms the centrepiece of a four-day festival at Doncaster Racecourse, bringing together world-class racing, fashion, entertainment and hospitality for one of the biggest sporting occasions in South Yorkshire.
