This September, the world's oldest Classic horse race turns 250 — and it happens here, on Town Moor, like it has since 1776. The 250 Club is Doncaster's business community standing up together: 250 businesses, each telling the world why they're proud of this town.
Doncaster built this race. Now the race can build Doncaster.
The Betfred St Leger isn't just a race that happens near us. It's the oldest Classic on the planet, it was founded here, it's named after one of ours, and for 250 years it has put Doncaster's name in front of the world every September.
We are looking for 250 local businesses to get involved. You make an announcement on your social media that you are "Supporting the 250th Betfred St Leger" and in return we will send you an exclusive offer for tickets and deals you cannot get through general sale — and as an added bonus, if you sign up and send us your advert, we will show it on screens in the venue during a feature race meeting. The first 50 to sign up will have it shown during this year's Betfred St Leger festival. What's not to like? Click the button below to register.
Step 1. Register and announce your support
Sign up in a couple of minutes, then post on your socials that you're "Supporting the 250th Betfred St Leger". That's the whole commitment — put your name behind the town's biggest weekend and let people know you're in.
Want it to travel further? Tag three business leaders and challenge them to take a place too. That's how a chain of 250 gets built — nobody recruits 250 people, but everybody can recruit three.
Unlock your exclusive offers
Once you're in, we send you an exclusive offer — ticket deals and festival perks you simply cannot get through the general sale.
It's your way to bring clients, staff and family to the 250th running of the world's oldest Classic, on terms only the 250 Club gets.
Get on the big screens
Send us your advert and we'll show it on the big screens inside the venue during the festival or at another feature race meeting, in front of tens of thousands of racegoers.
Getting behind the 250th Betfred St Leger isn't just goodwill. Here's what being one of the 250 puts in your hands.
Ticket offers and festival deals you won't find on the general sale
Your advert shown in-venue, in front of tens of thousands during the festival or at another feature race meeting
Minimum quarterly networking with the town's business leaders, plus your founding member badge
Doncaster is full of networking events that cost you hundreds a year to attend. The 1776 Club flips that: get behind the town's biggest weekend and the network* comes with it — the town's business leaders, in one room, together, at the town's iconic venue, The Racecourse.
*The 1776 Club is launched in association with the 250th Betfred St Leger and entitles its members to ongoing promotional discounts and early access to tickets. Arena Racing reserve the right to make small and reasonable charges where appropriate to enhance experiences and bring in valuable speakers to these events, should it be required to make an event special and bring more value to the members of the 1776 Club.
Every 250 Club member who sends in an advert gets it played on the big screens inside the venue. The first 50 members will have their advert shown during the festival — alongside the world's oldest Classic, in front of tens of thousands of racegoers. The remaining members will have their advert shown at another feature race meeting.
