Doncaster's Group 2 Champagne Stakes winner and 2019 Epsom Derby potential TOO DARN HOT is amongst 76 entered for the final Group 1 of the UK flat turf season, the Vertem Futurity Trophy Stakes on Saturday 27th October 2018.
Vertem Stockbrokers, who have recently been announced as the title sponsor in a five-year deal, is a Newcastle based stockbroker founded by racehorse owner John Dance.
The traditional test of the premier two-year-old thoroughbred colts and fillies, the race is run over a mile and offers the racing world a strong indication towards the superstar three-year-olds for the next season, in the Classic generation.
Five winners of The Vertem Futurity Trophy have gone on to win the following year’s Derby, the most recent of which was Camelot, trained by Aidan O’Brien. The horse also won the 2,000 Guineas and was narrowly denied a historic Triple Crown back at Doncaster in the 2012 St Leger.
2018 Flying Scotsman Stakes winner SANGARIUS, Group 3 KPMG Champions Juvenile Stakes winner MADHMOON who holds a 100% strike rate and Group 2 Qatar Vintage Stakes winner DARK VISION also hold entries.
