The opening day of the St Leger Festival, Leger Legends Day, kicks the 4-day extravaganza off with a bang as retired celebrities of the saddle dust off their breeches and return to action on Town Moor.
The Leger Legends charity race is a contest run on the straight mile and helps raise money for Doncaster's own National Horseracing College and Jack Berry House, a rehabilitation facility for injured jockeys.
First run in 2010, the Leger Legends race is the only British charity race for ex-professional jockeys. Previous winners include industry legends AP McCoy, Joseph O'Brien, Brian Harding and Julie Krone.
Growing in popularity year after year, Leger Legends Day is a brilliant opener to the historic festival. The day also features a packed 7-race card throughout the afternoon
