Taking place over four days, the famous Doncaster Betfred St Leger Festival features the final Classic of the revered British Flat racing season the Group 1 St Leger Stakes. Saturdays Betfred St Leger Day is one of the must-attend UK horse racing fixtures of the year.
Along with witnessing history-in-the making when the runners and riders enter the stalls to compete in the Worlds oldest Classic, expect to experience a social occasion and atmosphere like nothing else.
This is THE pinnacle of Doncaster events to attend in 2025. Their city flocks to experience all the drama and showmanship youd expect from an event of this caliber. But its not only the proud Yorkshire folk that wont want to miss any of the action the eyes of the World will be on Doncaster Racecourse for this epic moment in the British Flat horse racing calendar.
The highlight of the four-day festival, the Group 1 Betfred St Leger Stakes attracts some of the leading trainers and horses from across the country.
Boasting a glittering roll of honor comprising some of the most acclaimed horses in history, this race is the final leg of the esteemed British Triple Crown comprising of three British Classic races the Newmarket 2000 Guineas, the Epsom Derby and finally, the Betfred St Leger Stakes. Winning all three Group 1 races is considered the greatest achievement in Thoroughbred horse racing and was last achieved by Nijinsky in 1970.
The St Leger Stakes is open to three-year-old colts and fillies and is run over a mile and six furlongs. With recent previous winners including Kew Gardens, Logician and Simple Verse, it offers the perfect opportunity to see some of the very best three-year-old horses in action.
Jan Brueghel and Sean Levey were triumphant for Aiden O-Brien in a dominant display to win the St Leger Stakes in 2024. Who will win the final Classic of 2025?

Our County Enclosure allows access to all general admission areas (excluding the Premier Enclosure). This includes the social and exclusive Champagne Lawn, making the County Enclosure the place to be seen. The dress code encourages you to dress up for your day, including a collared shirt for Gentlemen - strictly no sportswear, but smart jeans and white trainers are accepted.
Limited to ensure the very best service and experience, our Premier Enclosure is located on the third floor of the main stand. Experience the wonderful atmosphere of a raceday from our fabulous glass fronted Premier Suite. The dress code is smart with strictly no jeans, sportswear or trainers and Gentlemen must wear a jacket and optional tie.
Our family enclosure has an alcohol-free area, to ensure a relaxed environment for extended families to enjoy the event together.
