The SBK Great Yorkshire Chase made the news in 2018 when a greyhound decided to join in with the race. The surprising addition had slipped its lead and away from its owners during a walk across the grounds and decided to be part of the exciting end stage of the race. It even managed to keep pace with some of the horses, and got the attention of jockey Mitchell Bastyan.
