Position: Financial Controller
Hours: Permanent - 40 hours per week, 5 days over 7
Doncaster Racecourse is currently recruiting for a very exciting job, we are seeking a driven and passionate Financial Controller to join and lead the finance team.
Doncaster Racecourse, part of Arena Racing Company (ARC) is a unique venue welcoming over 225,000 visitors to 36 racedays delivering an exhilarating mix of horse racing, live music and fantastic social days out. As a conference and event facility, the venue offers more than 40 different meeting spaces delivering seminars, exhibitions, weddings and much more. Part of the venue includes The Old Weighing Room Restaurant & Bar and the 154 bed on-site Hilton Hotel – due to open summer 2018.
As the Financial Controller you will effectively manage the Finance Operation of Doncaster Racecourse. Working closely with senior members of the racecourse and Hotel staff. Part of this role will include the management and delegation of duties to members of staff within the finance department to ensure the highest standard and accuracy of work is produced as well as overseeing significant raceday cash and finance operations.
Within the scope of work you will be responsible for the accuracy and consistency of management accounts and reporting. You will nurture a strong relationship with the Racecourse Executive Director and provide detailed financial information and advice as requested. This will also include regular reviews at the course to ensure full compliance with internal and external reporting and accounting requirements.
You will be expected to work closely with the Executive Director and Group Financial Controller in the strategic planning of the businesses, providing information where necessary to assist in achieving the goals and targets as set by the company.
The nature of the business demands flexibility over working hours to suit each event and the preparation involved. The role demands a high level of accuracy as well as good staff management and communication skills.

Position: Housekeeping Team Members (Casual and race Days)
Housekeeping staff required to work on a casual basis. This is a varied role which involves ensuring that all areas of the racecourse are clean, tidy and presentable ready for our guests to experience. For this post, you need to be friendly with an eye for detail and a willingness to work hard.
No experience is required as training will be provided.
Position: Kitchen Porters (Casual and Race Days)
Assisting in the busy racecourse kitchens this position involves working alongside the chef’s team keeping the kitchen areas clean and tidy and ensuring relevant equipment is clean and maintained.
Position: Bar Staff (Casual and Race Days)
Working behind our busy race day bars, you must have an eye for detail and a willingness to learn and work hard. No experience is necessary as training will be provided. You must be over 18 to apply for this position.
Position: Hospitality Team Members (Casual and Race Days)
This is a very varied role. One day you may be helping with a conference for 1000 people and the next day working in a private box for 20. For this post you need to be friendly with an eye for detail and a willingness to work hard. No experience is required as training will be provided.
