14TH
What has to be one of Doncaster Racecourse's biggest live music coup's to date looks to set stands of Town Moor alive when fantastic Brit band Scouting for Girls appear live after the Saturday afternoon race meeting on Saturday, August 14th.
Following the stratospheric No. 1 chart success of 'This Ain't A Love Song' super band Scouting For Girls have become the biggest selling new Brit band of the year.
The trio, fronted by exuberant showman Roy Stride, have brought us contagious hits such as 'She's So Lovely', 'Heartbeat', 'It's Not About You' and 'Elvis Ain't Dead' and
Released one of the most successful number 1 debut albums in years in September 2007.
Their upbeat music and inimitable stage persona makes Scouting For Girls one of the most popular bands around at the moment, with their appeal spanning all ages from teens upwards with their upbeat style of music providing the perfect opportunity to sing and dance along, something the band are very proud of.
As a testament to their real and honest approach to their music and audiences Roy, Greg and Pete are quoted as saying: "Whether it's an audience of 50 people or 50,000 we have always tried to connect with every single person in the room. If they've made the effort to spend their money to come and support you, we won't allow one fan to go home and think we were just 'alright'. Alright is pointless."
With the showmanship, cheeky and captivating nature of Roy Stride, zipping around the stage - a whirlwind of energy and charisma, whipping up the crowd, we are absolutely certain that the 'Scouting For Girls' gig will be once of the best ever live music events to hit Doncaster …. Maybe even South Yorkshire!
Sharon Bennett, Marketing & Communications Manager at Doncaster Racecourse said: "This is going to be an absolutely amazing day for the racecourse - we are so pleased to be able to secure one of the most popular bands in the charts today to play after racing at Doncaster and feel confident that this will give the crowds at Doncaster something to remember for a long time, at the same time raising the profile of the racecourse as a significant music and entertainment venue within Yorkshire".
