'SCOUTING FOR GIRLS' LIVE AFTER RACING AT DONCASTER'S NEW SATURDAY AFTERNOON MEETING
Top British pop band, 'Scouting For Girls' are set to play live on stage after racing at Doncaster on Saturday (August 14) - a new Saturday afternoon fixture on Town Moor.
Fronted by Roy Stride on keyboard, with Greg Churchouse (bass) and Pete Ellard (drums), 'Scouting For Girls' released their latest album, 'Everybody Wants To Be On TV' earlier this year, preceded by their single, 'This Ain't A Love Song'. They are a leading band in British pop and their performance at Doncaster is eagerly awaited as once again the top music acts come to Town Moor to combine with the racing. The boys will take to the stage when racing has finished (the final race is scheduled for 5-45 p.m.).
The seven-race programme on the track is set to begin at 2-20 p.m. and prior to the racing action, there's a parade of Standard Bearers from The Royal British Legion on the course and in the parade ring. Collections will be made for the RBL, the nation's leading charity supporting British service personnel who have served and are serving in the armed forces. It should be a colourful start to what promises to be a tremendous day at Doncaster.
The fully-sponsored includes races supported by The Crown Hotel Bawtry, Centurion Europe, Close Building Services Doncaster, The Zest Bar & Grill Doncaster, Universal Recycling, Lovell Respond and The Royal British Legion.
This is Doncaster's last meeting before next month's prestigious four-day St. Leger Festival and tickets for both Saturday and the Festival can be pre-booked from the racecourse office.
The giant screen, situated opposite the main stands will enable racegoers to see all of the action. A shuttle bus service will be in operation from the railway station (1-30 single and £2-20 return).
