SCOUTING FOR GIRLS GET DONCASTER RACECOURSE SKIPPING A 'HEARTBEAT'

CHART-topping Brit band, Scouting for Girls got Doncaster Racecourse skipping a 'Heartbeat' at the weekend (Saturday 14th August) as they belted out a string of hits in front of a packed crowd.

It was the horses that took centre stage first with an afternoon programme of exhilarating racing, including the charity sponsored British Legion race.

Then Scouting for Girls galloped onto stage to wow the 12,500 strong audience with a string of hits including She's So Lovely, Heartbeat, It's Not About You, Elvis Ain't Dead and the new smash single, Famous.

Mark Spincer, managing director at Doncaster Racecourse says: "The audience attendance for Saturday has matched our previous concerts. It was a real coup for the racecourse to bring one of the most popular bands in the UK to Doncaster and fans were given a great afternoon of entertainment with the racing and the concert.

"The sun shone and it was fantastic to see the crowd at the racecourse enjoying themselves. Doncaster Racecourse is an ideal venue for live outdoor music and Scouting for Girls put on a real show for the fans, belting out all the favourite hits."

Doncaster Racecourse is now preparing for the highlight of its racing year, the prestigious Ladbrokes St Leger Festival - the highlight being the world's oldest classic horse race, which takes place from 8th - 11th September.

Mark adds: "We're now looking forward to our St Leger Festival, which promises to be four days of top class racing and entertainment for all the family. Highlights include the DFS Ladies Day on the Thursday and the St Leger race on the Saturday, with some of the country's top horses taking part.

"I would encourage anyone who hasn't been to the racecourse for a while to come along and enjoy the Festival, especially if they haven't visited since our £34million redevelopment, which includes a new five storey grandstand."

With ticket sales currently beating year on year figures for the St Leger Festival, race-goers are already being urged to book soon to ensure that they can get the tickets for their preferred enclosure before they sell out.
