Live 1980's Concert 01-04-09

We love the '80's!

'80's Music Icons to Play Doncaster Racecourse in June'

The first line-up of artists that will perform at Doncaster Racecourse on June 5th, the second second to be announced of three live outdoor music gigs taking place at Doncaster Racecourse this summer (after racing), has been announced today.

1980's chart hero's Paul Young, Midge Ure, Kim Wilde and Belinda Carlisle will lead a fantastic line up on the evening of Friday, 5th June, for a Concert that will also feature Curiosity Killed the Cat and Kid Creole and the Coconuts!

A recent 1980's fashion and music revival has highlighted and resurrected a soft spot amongst 'thirtysomethings' for everything '80's, particularly for music fans. Bringing this fabulous line up to the racecourse will rock Town Moor with classics such as 'Vienna', 'Dancing with Tears in my Eyes' (Midge Ure), 'Everytime You Go Away' and 'Wherever I Lay My Hat (That's My Home)' (Paul Young), 'Circles in the Sand' and 'Heaven is a Place on Earth' (Belinda Carlisle), 'Kids in America' and 'You Keep Me Hanging On' (Kim Wilde).

For all those eighties teens among us fond memories will come flooding back when Curiosity Killed the Cat strikes the first note of 'Straight Back Down to Earth' and the words of Kid Creole's memorable chorus of 'Annie I'm Not Your Daddy' echoes around the historic Doncaster Racecourse Clock Tower!

The racecourse is tipped to become a clear winner for live outdoor concerts following on from the blistering success of Madness in 2008 and the announcement earlier this year that rock legends Status Quo are performing live at Town Moor on Thursday, 23rd July. The artist confirmation for the final live concert of the series of three for 2009 is anticipated within the next few days ….. keep watching the racecourse website for news of who is performing on Saturday, 27th June.

Tickets are on sale now for an amazing evening's racing followed by live music that will get everyone dancing and reminiscing, admission prices for a full evening of entertainment (racing plus the outdoor concert) start at £25 for Grandstand Admission, County Enclosure £35 and Premier Enclosure £50. Bookings are being taken for both the Lincoln (a la carte) Restaurant and the County (Chef's Table) and fantastic corporate hospitality packages are available - what better way to entertain clients?
