The fourth annual Doncaster Pride takes place on Saturday 21st August @ Doncaster Racecourse. Pride events are not just for gay people…. the committee extends an open invitation to anyone to come along and join in the fun!
Liz McLarnon Toyah S Club

Liz McLarnon

As one third of Britain's biggest girl band; Atomic Kitten; Liz has travelled the world on sell out tours, performed for the Queen at Buckingham Palace and has countless awards and number 1 singles and albums under her belt, sold 10 million records globally as well as bringing pop music back to the masses in 2001 when the band released "Whole Again" which spent 4 weeks at number 1 in the UK chart, 6 weeks at number 1 in Germany, and was number 1 in 17 other Countries. Whole Again has also just be named in the Top 10 selling singles of the decade, and Atomic Kitten are the only girl band to feature in the Top 10, and one of only 3 acts not to have been born from a Reality TV Show.
Since her early Atomic Kitten days, Liz has effortlessly made the leap from starlet to superstar, been schmoozed by Hollywood hotshots and partied with pop royalty.

Toyah

In a career spanning over 30 years Toyah has had 13 top 40 singles, recorded 20 albums, written 2 books, appeared in over 40 stage plays, made 10 feature films and presented hundreds of television programmes from The Good Sex Guide Late to Songs Of Praise. She continues to work at the top of the league in media, music, acting and writing.

Her first UK chart success was in 1981 with "It's a Mystery" this was followed by several other huge hits including "Thunder in the Mountains" and "I Want to Be Free." These singles were also successful on an international level. In 1982, she was voted Best Female Singer at the British Rock and Pop Awards and has been acclaimed one of the most successful female artists in British history.

S Club

S Club rose to fame in their own BBC television series, Miami 7, in 1999. They had success after success with UK number 1 singles and albums, a string of number 1 singles throughout Europe, and top-ten singles in the United States, Asia, Latin America, and Africa. They recorded a total of four studio albums with worldwide sales of over seventeen million.
Their television series went on to last four series, seeing the group travel across the United States and eventually ending up in Barcelona, Spain. It became popular in 100 different countries where the show was watched by over 90 million viewers.
As well as the popularity of their television series, S Club 7 won two BRIT Awards-in 2000 for British breakthrough act and in 2002, for best British single. In 2001, the group earned the Record of the Year award.
Spokesperson for Pride said "This is just for starters; we've also got a number of local and national bands and artistes, some of whom are on the brink of major success. We've teamed up with Real Radio to acquire three acts that are all potentially going to be in chart positions in the time between now and Pride. We really try hard to have something for everyone on the main stage and we haven't finished yet - there's more to come!"
Doncaster Pride will also for the first time feature a second stage so visitors will get a huge value for money return on their £3 entry fee. (Under 16's free).
