Doncaster Pride 23rd June Release
Pride gets "Real"
22nd June 2010
This year Doncaster Pride has a new radio partner in Real Radio.
The two organisations have teamed up to make Pride 2010 at the
Racecourse even bigger and better.
Pride spokesperson Jenny Dewsnap said "Since we announced the
move to the Racecourse we've been aware that we needed to find
and work with a local radio station. We decided that as Pride is
growing we needed to get our messages out across a wider area and
bring people to Doncaster for the event. Real broadcast to
listeners all over Yorkshire and this will increase our potential
to attract people from wider afield.
This isn't just about Pride though it's about something
good for Doncaster. Pride's growing reputation and ability to
bring in thousands of visitors to Doncaster has much more wide
reaching economic benefits to the local economy - for example
we're working with local hoteliers to promote their hotels to
those looking for a place to stay.
Thanks to the team at Real Radio we will be getting on air from
early August with advertising and promotion of Pride as well as
being able to tap into their record industry contacts to assist
with this year's acts. We are very excited about this new
partnership and are thrilled it gives Doncaster Pride a big name
partner to help spread the word."
Real Radio Managing Director Steve South added "we're
delighted to be part of this year's Doncaster Pride
celebrations and to be able to support this celebration of
Doncaster's diverse community."
Doncaster Pride is keen to stress that our event is open to anyone
and is not an exclusively gay event. Many of the visitors are
families and supporters or friends of gay people but many are not -
they are there to have a great day out. Doncaster Pride welcomes
everyone and believes equality and acceptance can only come from
events where all people of all backgrounds come together to have
fun and enjoy themselves.
Tickets for Pride on the 21st August are now on sale for £3
(under 16's free) and this is one admission price for the full
12 hour event. Visit www.doncasterpride.co.ukfor
more information and to buy tickets in advance.

Legal Firm Atherton Godfrey announces Pride sponsorship deal.
Doncaster Pride is also delighted to announce a new sponsorship
deal with local legal firm Atherton Godfrey. Pride spokesperson
Andy Carter said "It's wonderful to have them on board,
it's important they have the chance to show the gay community
that they are a practice that has the experience and desire to help
with some of the legal issues facing them".
Spokesperson for Atherton Godfrey added "We are a legal
practice that has been established in Doncaster for over 30 years
and are situated on Hall Gate in the town centre. We pride
ourselves on being professional and approachable and look to
provide legal support for local people from all walks of life.
We as a firm are delighted to be able to sponsor the 2010 Doncaster
Pride and want to celebrate the diversity and talent that members
of the LGBT community not only bring to Doncaster, but to our own
firm as well.
As solicitors we deal with many, sometimes sensitive, legal issues that can impact those within the LGBT community (such as civil ceremonies, divorce, clinical negligence, discrimination in the work place and wills and probate to name but a few) and we're extremely proud to have helped (and continue to help) so many local people when it comes to providing the legal support they need for their lifestyle choices."
