Doncaster business community gives charity appeal a perfect day

Business people from Doncaster are swapping their Blackberry's and briefcases for microphones and guitars this week as hundreds prepare to record a charity single in aid of the Doncaster Royal Infirmary Scanner Appeal.

Groups of Doncaster business folk led by members of the Doncaster Dynamites Business Networking International (BNI) Group, have already donated £100 each to the appeal for the chance to sing a couple of lines of Lou Reed's 1972 classic record, Perfect Day. To complete the charity track anyone can rock up to Doncaster Racecourse this Thursday, December 2 at 5pm to join the mass recording of the chorus for a donation of just £25 each.

Doncaster Racecourse's Finance Director Mike Reeder is also the group director of the Doncaster Dynamites BNI Group and has been involved in the scanner appeal initiative from its early stages, playing the keyboard on the track itself, he said: "Andrew Isaacs, a locally based lawyer first suggested recording Perfect Day as a charity single for the Doncaster Royal Infirmary Scanner Appeal which everyone at Doncaster Dynamites thought was a brilliant idea.

"It has been great fun putting together the track so far and Sine FM has kindly donated their studios to the cause. Now we're asking for as many people as possible to get involved and help create a really powerful chorus which will help complete the record.

"We're asking everyone who participates at the racecourse on Thursday to donate £25 to sing as part of the chorus group and get the chance to network and get to know some likeminded businesses. We're also hoping to publicise the single as much as possible and try and gain a chart position, so if you've ever dreamed of becoming a pop star, this is your chance!"
