Status Quo Confirm Outdoor Concert After Racing At Doncaster
We are delighted to announce today that legendary rock icons Status Quo will perform at Town Moor with a live open air concert after racing. The celebrated guitar group fronted by Francis Rossi and Rick Parfitt has confirmed that they are to play at course on the evening of Thursday July 23rd.
Ticket prices for the show, which go on sale today (Wednesday January 28th January), will also include entry to the race meeting representing fantastic value for money.
Prices start from £25 for Grandstand admission, £35 for County and £50 for entry to the Premier Enclosure - excellent value hospitality and restaurant packages are also on sale for the event.
The 'Quo' have been one of the most enduring and successful English bands, racking up more than 22 Top Ten hits and 33 hit albums, selling more than 112m records since they first formed in 1967. From the late-60s to the mid-80s the band had a string of hits, including Down, Down, Roll Over Lay Down, Again and Again, What You're Proposing and Whatever You Want - all timeless rock anthems. In December they released their first-ever Christmas single, entitled It's Christmas Time.
After the massive success of outdoor music events during 2008 the Doncaster Racecourse management team is planning an extensive calendar of themed and high profile outdoor concerts for 2009 to offer race goers additional value for money and a great experience for the price of their entry ticket. Doncaster Racecourse Managing Director Adam Waterworth said: "It's vital that we offer something extra and a little different for our customers enjoyment, so when Status Quo confirmed the open air concert we were delighted - the band have a staunch following in South Yorkshire, I am certain the fans will turn out in force and that the band will receive a typical Yorkshire welcome from the crowds at Doncaster".
